back to Standing Bear Lake
There are several entrances to the recreation area. I walked over
to the one on 132nd. There were some guys practicing snare drum,
but that didn't bother me. I just walked up this path.
Omaha is very different than Arizona. You have fields of green grass in Nebraska.
It might be from all the rain. I guess I prefer a dryer climate, but at
least I stopped the nosebleeds.
This is Standing Bear Lake.
Another lake shot.
The day was warm and getting somewhat humid. It was still early morning, so
it wasn't so bad. Later in the day my central air started up.
The path doesn't go all around the lake as I had hoped. It just goes to certain
points. There are unpaved trails that bring you to the lake, but since it
had just rained the night before, these were muddy. Ergo, my shoes are
muddy.
A yellow flower. Lynne (San Francisco) suggests this might be a type of dandelion.
This makes sense as it looked like it was around dandelions.
Hawkfield is a place you can fly a radio controlled plane.
There were two guys preping their planes for departure. I later heard one of the
planes in the air. A bunch of young kids were waiting, watching. One said
"the purple plane is the best" which got quite a chuckle from one of the
guys.
