Jamala Beach County Park is about an hour drive from Santa Barbara. The cost is $5.00 / vehicle to stay the day.

It is best to go at low tide or you won't get too far.

Be prepared for wind... and a lot of it. The hike itself is about 6 miles one way. We left around 9:15am and returned around 4:00pm.

The 'Cliffs Of Insanity'.

Hikers at a distance.

There were two birds very interested in this fishy.

As you look to the right from Jamala campground, you see folks frolicing in the wind.

A green hilltop. I liked the multi-colored thing.

Jim Vanyo found part of the shoreline to be tough traveling.

This is a path to somewhere. It is towards the end of our hike.

A picture of Point Conception.

Rigorous waves near Point Conception.

Lost in a sea of green....

Is this whale snot? Is this a pile of jellyfish?

A starfish on the beach.

Stone steps that are actually a retaining wall.

A natural swimming pool (when the tide is right).

Tony B. and Diane S.

Tony B and a monolith. A bit of Richard Strauss, "Also Sprach Zarathustra", Op. 30 sounds in the background....

There was some tough hiking here. Nobody wants a wetfoot.

These are the unlikely hikers. It was just too windy and the terrain too disagreeable. They turned back.

A writhing mass of something unsavory.
