Bill takes pictures with his camcorder.
Aiken Mine has all sorts of dilapidated buildings. This one is made of huge timbers.
I think it is pretty cool that all these buildings and vehicles are around to investigate. Others
may think it is a shame that they have been left to mar the area. I leave it to you to decide what
is right and wrong.
Tim and Tone climb a conical steel dome.
Aiken mine from afar. They mined rock off of a cinder cone for road construction, and I assume
other uses like garden rock.
There is a big lava formation that Tim and I investigate. It's sort of sharp.
Lava rock in blob formations, and covered with lichens.
At the mine is a large scale. Since they are mining lava rock, the scale measures large
weights. Gunshot wounds have frozen the scale forever, or is this just the tare weight?
The actual scale.
