Bill taking pix
Bill takes pictures with his camcorder.

Falling house
Aiken Mine has all sorts of dilapidated buildings. This one is made of huge timbers.

Aiken mine
I think it is pretty cool that all these buildings and vehicles are around to investigate. Others may think it is a shame that they have been left to mar the area. I leave it to you to decide what is right and wrong.

Tim tone conical
Tim and Tone climb a conical steel dome.

Aiken mine
Aiken mine from afar. They mined rock off of a cinder cone for road construction, and I assume other uses like garden rock.

Tim lava rock structure
There is a big lava formation that Tim and I investigate. It's sort of sharp.

Lava rock
Lava rock in blob formations, and covered with lichens.

Scale
At the mine is a large scale. Since they are mining lava rock, the scale measures large weights. Gunshot wounds have frozen the scale forever, or is this just the tare weight?

Scale
The actual scale.
